The NorseAmerica Bunad Figurine
Collection make great gifts. They also share the traditions of our
heritage with our children & grandchildren. The collection is made up of
16 authentically replicated national costumes and is the same collection
sold in Norway. It will be cherished by your family for years and years
to come. Each 7 inch tall statuette is sculptured by a master craftsman,
cast in a crushed stone and resin compound, and hand painted to preserve
even the minutest detail. The collection has been assembled in
collaboration with, and is recommended by, The Norwegian Museum of
Cultural History, (Norsk Folkemuseum), Oslo and The Folk and National
Costume Council, (Bunad-og Folkedraktrådet), Fagernes. Read
Lena's Log to learn about new
additions to the collections and when we will have them available in
the shop. |

Lena and Ole’s offers two different
porcelain choices by Porsgrund -- the Farmer’s Rose (pictured) and
the festive hearts and pines. Decorated in 24 carat gold, this
china has been crafted and hand-painted in Norway’s Porsgrunn
factory, in operation since 1887. The Farmer’s Rose is based on the
rosemaling heritage of the Telemark province.

High quality candles and candleholders including
soy candles from Minnesota are available at Lena and Ole's. The
traditional Scandinavian ball candles are made in Denmark and come
in a wide variety of colors. Danish
iron candle holders are hand-forged in the tradition of
Scandinavian iron work going back to the Viking age. They
usually include glass holders for ball candles or tea lights.

Rosemaling by Linda Johnson of South
Dakota is an outstanding example of the traditional Norwegian folk
painting and is done in the Rogaland style. In Norwegian, “rose”
means decoration and “maler” means painter. Most of the decoration
is based on scrolls and flowers. It was very traditional for the
Norwegians to rosemale their furniture and homes to add color and
beauty. Check with
Lena to customize your gift of rosemaling. Lena's
Log will keep you informed about all fine art currently
carried in the shop. |

Konge Tinn
by Fjord Scandinavian Flatware design is one of 3 designs of
flatware carried by Lena and Ole. This highly functional, beautiful
flatware is hand-crafted in Kinsarvik, a small town located by the
scenic Hardanger fjord in Norway. No design will retire and each
type of flatware has many functional serving pieces available along
with the 20 and 5-piece place settings. The Kongetinn, decorated by
the King and his men who inspired this design, is based on
historical events from the late Viking period, almost 1000 years
ago. Most pieces are crafted out of the highest grade of Swedish
stainless steel and others from pewter. Learn more about the
